Job Description:

Overview: The General Manager is responsible for assisting with the operation a designated field location under the direction of the Regional Manager. He/She is responsible for providing leadership to front-line staff for both under-wing and above-wing activities, as well as other services provided to vendor partners.

SAFETY - Adhere to company policies and procedures which promote a culture of safety and a Drug Free Workplace; Adhere to industry standards and company specific policies and procedures regarding safety precautions and the use of required personal protective safety equipment.

QUALITY - Attention to detail while being able to work independently from time to time carrying out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.

CUSTOMERS – Works towards exceeding customer needs and expectations. Communicates and works well with others.

Job Specific Tasks, Knowledge, Responsibilities and Activities:

The General Manager is responsible for FSS operations at his/her location. This includes P&L, all aspects of the local operations. Specifically, he/she will

Deliver excellent customer service by both yourself and your staff to the airlines and passengers

Maintain full compliance with customer Service Level Agreement(s)

Lead a supervisory team and front line employees to meet the location and corporate goals

Ensure proper staffing in accordance with station budget, customer requirements, and allocations

Develop employees and leadership to their fullest potential

Develop policies/processes/plans to address operational needs and goals

Ensure compliance with training requirements and assist station trainer with training initiatives

Maximize operational performance, adjusting to changes in operation conditions

Proactive solving of problems, including but not limited to on-time performance

Maintain optimum employee morale by proper and consistent application of disciplinary action and commendatory measures

Hold employees accountable to FSS rules/regulations, policies, and procedures

Develop all functions of account activity within budget constraints and with emphasis on customer service and safety

Maintain and ensure compliance to all FAA/Homeland Security/ADA Regulations and practices

Resolve passenger issues, answer questions, assist passengers and employees as required

Complete other duties as assigned by the executive staff

Develop additional business opportunities

Hours: dependent on operational needs, may be rotating

Operate computer, cell phone, and other account specific equipment properly and effectively

Excellent written/verbal communication skills and significant experience presenting to audiences of all sizes/levels in ENGLISH

Classroom instruction, facilitation and presentation skills

Qualifications Education and/or Certifications or Licenses:

High school diploma or GED required

Bachelor’s Degree (Communication OR Business) with focus on aviation management preferred

Knowledge of aviation industry, aviation management, air cargo, airline vendor, and/or military flight line management experience

Physical Requirements:

Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone OR radio

Work is generally performed in an office setting but may also include periods of time in the field

May require long periods of standing

Requires being available to work during off hours, nights, weekends depending upon need
