Job Description:
Servpro of Metairie is seeking a Payroll Specialist to serve as
the main point of contact for staff for all HR and Payroll related
matters.This role will be responsible for payroll processing and HR
functions that includes but not limited to: Payroll, recruitment,
onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, training &
certifications, employee records management, benefits, and
leave.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPAYROLL
ADMINISTRATIONManage and process payroll.Implements, maintains, and
reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate
processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits,
garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.Ensures accurate and
timely processing of payroll updates including new hires,
terminations, and changes to pay rates.Prepares and maintains
accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.Ensures
compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour
laws and best practices.Facilitates audits by providing records and
documentation to auditors.HR RESPONSIBILITIESManages the onboarding
process by processing new hire paperwork, coordinating onboarding
schedule, and conducting New Hire Orientation presentation.Leads
termination procedures/packages. Manages offboarding, facilitating
equipment returns, etc.Handle employee relations, including
corrective action and record keeping.Manages full benefit year
lifecycle, including open enrollment and employee
questions.Administer both short and long-term leaves, including the
Paid Family and Medical Leave Act (PFMLA).Manage worker's
compensation process and record keepingWorks closely with
management and employees to improve work relationships, build
morale, and increase productivity and retention.OTHERPerform other
duties such as assisting in HR special projects or initiatives and
assignments as needed.REQUIREMENTS, DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, AND
SKILLS:Minimum of three (3) years of Human Resources generalist
experience.Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience
including processing payroll administration.Extensive knowledge of
the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal
control, and payroll taxes.Experience with ADP Workforce
PlatformStrong proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.Ability
to recognize information needed to solve a problem
efficiently.Responds quickly and effectively to unexpected and
rapidly changing conditions.High-level attention to detail, process
detailed information effectively and consistently.Sets up
procedures to ensure high quality of work.Models the use of sound
judgment and integrity to make clear, transparent decisions
