The JW Marriott New Orleans located at 614 Canal Street, New
Orleans, LA 70130 is currently hiring a Cook I. Responsibilities
include: Prepare special meals or replace products. Regulate the
temperature of the ovens, the grills and the grills. Remove the
food from the freezer to thaw it in the refrigerator. Make sure
that the portions, the distribution and the dressing of the food
are adequate. Keep food records. Control the quality and quantity
of the food that is prepared. Communicate any assistance needed
during the periods in which there is more work. Inform the kitchen
manager of excess food products to use in the specials of the day.
Inform staff of the Food and Beverage service about rejected
products and special dishes available on the menu. Ensure the
quality of food products. Prepare and cook the food according to
the recipes, the quality standards, the presentation standards and
the checklist for the preparation of the food.Prepare cold dishes.
Assist management in the recruitment, training, programming,
evaluation, assessment, discipline, motivation and training of
employees; serve as an example. Comply with all company and
security policies and procedures; inform the manager of accidents,
injuries and unsafe working conditions;and conduct trainings and
obtain safety certifications. Make sure that the uniform and
personal appearance are neat and professional, maintain the
confidentiality of the patented information and protect the
company's assets. Anticipate the service needs of the guests and
attend them. Talk to others using clear and professional language.
Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with others;
support the team to achieve common goals; listen and respond
appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Ensure compliance
with expectations and quality standards. Stand, Take a seat or walk
for an extended period of time. Stretch above the head and below
the knees, even bend, twist, twist and bend. Move, lift, carry,
push, drag and place objects that weigh 25 pounds or less without
assistance. Execute other reasonable work duties requested by
