Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: New Orleans, LA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,872 per week Shift Information: Nights - 4 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 8 Weeks Start Date: 4/20/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in New Orleans, Louisiana, 70121! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 8 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty required License: Compact or state license required Certifications: BCLS, ACLS Must-Have: Epic experience required Must have knowledge and skills in telemetry and cardiac telemetry. Experience in managing various patient conditions is essential. Description: The unit does not accept first-time travelers. Patient diagnoses include pre-liver transplant, acute and chronic liver failure, end-stage renal disease, diabetic ketoacidosis, sepsis, acute and chronic respiratory failure, and heart failure. Special procedures performed in this unit include hospice care and immunoglobulin therapy. Nurse responsibilities include administering infusions, managing drips, and performing assessments. The daily census is approximately 33 patients. The unit consists of 34 beds. Staff support includes IV teams, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. Patient age groups served are adults and geriatrics. Patients may require assistance with feeding tube management, tracheostomy care, and wound care. Isolation precautions and PPE protocols must be followed. Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias are required skills.
