The Chartwell Center became a program of Easterseals Louisiana in
2021.Easterseals Louisiana is a non-profit organization whose
mission is to assist children and adults with physical and
intellectual disabilities achieve independence. It is our vision to
be recognized as an organization that transforms communities and
engages all members through quality service, knowledge, and
compassion. The purpose of Chartwell is to aid individuals with
autism spectrum and related disorders by providing educational
services and therapy, and by offering training and support to
parents, teacher, and other professionals. Founded in 1999 by
concerned and dedicated parents, the school's goal is to help its
students not only survive but thrive in the outside world.
Job Description (include, but are not limited to):
The BCBA will provide support to individuals and their families by
coordinating and providing services in Applied Behavior Analysis,
function analyses and assessment, behavior acquisition and
reduction procedures, and adaptive life skills. A BCBA will also
oversee programming of associate behavior analysts and provide
ongoing support and supervision to ABA Therapist's as it relates to
the implementation and documentation associated with Behavior
Support Plans.
- Function in a supervisory capacity and provide oversight to all
areas of programming including the training of ABA Therapist and
Interventionists (if applicable)
- Assist in the development, facilitation, and follow-up training
in Applied Behavior Analysis, using both discrete trial training
and natural environment training models of teaching.
- Facilitate and assist in the development and identification of
resources and support information for clients and their
families
- Provide model teaching and other direct instructional supports
including, but not limited to, practicum supervision/teaching,
class instruction and in-service instruction to other support
professionals.
- Assist in the development and implementation of assessment
tools, to conduct functional assessments and analyses when
appropriate, and to develop appropriate behavior strategies to
teach appropriate behavior and reduce maladaptive behaviors.
- Work collaboratively with staff and families to promote
positive student behavior by providing professional development
that targets research, strategies and modeling of instructional
practices to support staff in their implementation of positive
support
- Create ongoing data collection system to establish baseline and
programmatic efficacy for all consumers, and to analyze data on a
frequent and ongoing basis to guide programming.
- Develop behavior plans/treatment plans for all consumers with a
focus on teaching and other antecedent strategies for reducing
problematic behavior(s).
- Meet as needed with supervised staff to discuss ongoing
consumer issues and to provide support when necessary.
- Review and sign off on behavior plan/treatment plan training
for all field staff and provide field supervision when
necessary.
- Provide consultation services and to maintain ongoing
communication with all constituents (other supports, parents,
community, and community agencies).
- Maintain all data, paperwork, and communication between staff
and families, and to provide ongoing feedback to government related
agencies that contract with such families.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Requirements:
- Master's Degree in applied behavior analysis, special
education, psychology or related discipline
- Current Licensed and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA, as
certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
- Experience with obtaining service authorizations is
preferred
- current credentialing with the Louisiana Medicaid system
- Preferred - Classroom teaching experience, social worker or
psychologist.
- Keep current with the literature, new research findings and
resources. In addition, continuing education courses to maintain
BCBA certification are necessary
- Experience in crisis intervention and conflict resolution
skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain a
positive collaborative relationship among staff
- Experience working with various funding streams and other third
party sources
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and
flexible hours
- Proficient in computer skills, especially using Outlook, Word,
Excel and customized databases
- Understanding and the ability to maintain appropriate
boundaries with staff and clients in all circumstances
- Program development, evaluation, solid organizational skills,
and public speaking
- Good inter-personal skills, ability to relate well with persons
from a variety socioeconomic and cultural groups
- Demonstrates initiative, self-motivation, practical learning
skills, enthusiasm, and an ability to complete tasks in a timely
and accurate manner
- Demonstrates sound business judgement and is supportive of the
mission and objectives
- Understands the licensing and contractual framework of the
organization

Salary Range: $60-75,000 annually
