Job Description:
Ochsner's Transition-to-Practice (TTP) program is designed to
move the new graduate from critical thinking to clinical reasoning
and professional nursing judgement. This is done through an
innovative program, based on current evidence, designed to support
the new nurse through in-person and virtual interaction. The
program prepares the new graduate nurse by offering hands-on skills
and reflective discussions that will ease the transition into the
role of professional nurse. TTP's innovative program curriculum
will start with 4 in-person on-boarding classes that will not only
have interactive clinical reasoning case scenarios but will have an
RN guide you on how to chart the patient's case in our electronic
system; "charting like a nurse". Subsequently, you will have 3
weekly in-person clinical reasoning sessions followed by regularly
scheduled virtual debriefs to discuss real patient situations and
clinical wins from your unit. Our program mentors will be with you
to support you at every step; celebrating your wins and overcoming

The physical essential functions of this job include (but are not
limited to) the following: Frequently exerting 10 to 20 pounds of
force to move objects; occasionally exerting up to 100 pounds of
force. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for
sedentary work. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable

Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may
be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or
hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport,
storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or

increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
