Job Description:
Job Description Job Description TFG is seeking a motivated Shop
and Installation Technician to join our team in Metairie, LA. This
entry-level position offers full training and a hands-on
opportunity to build a skilled trade career in the foodservice
equipment industry. As a Shop/Install Technician, you’ll assist
with the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of
commercial foodservice equipment, both in our Metairie facility and
at customer locations. You’ll also help with part deliveries,
equipment preparation, and general shop organization. This role is
ideal for someone mechanically inclined, dependable, and eager to
learn and grow within a supportive environment. Key
Responsibilities: Perform in-house repairs, troubleshooting, and
maintenance on commercial foodservice equipment. Assist with
installation and delivery of new equipment to customer sites.
Assemble, install, fabricate, and connect system components (e.g.,
compressors, motors, control panels, gauges, valves, tubing).
Conduct system tests to ensure functionality, identify issues, and
make necessary repairs. Maintain a clean and organized shop
environment, following all safety and company standards.
Communicate clearly with internal teams and customers, representing
TFG professionally. Participate in ongoing technical training and
development. Qualifications: Must have a valid driver’s license and
be at least 21 years of age. Mechanical aptitude or interest in
electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, or general repair work. Strong
attention to detail, dependability, and willingness to learn.
Ability to work independently and follow instructions. Physical
ability to stand, bend, and lift throughout the shift. Excellent
communication and customer service skills. Preferred Experience
(Not Required): High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in
electrical, HVAC, or refrigeration work. EPA Certification
(training/certification provided on the job). Work Environment:
This position is based out of our Metairie facility. Work is
primarily performed in a shop setting, with occasional local travel
for installations and deliveries. Some overnight travel may be
required for out-of-area installations or training. About TFG:
