This role supports students and staff by facilitating effective communication between hearing and deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals within the educational setting. The ideal candidate is skilled in American Sign Language (ASL) and experienced in interpreting in schools. Responsibilities: Provide accurate and timely sign language interpretation during classroom instruction, meetings, and school events. Collaborate with teachers, students, and support staff to ensure effective communication and inclusion. Assist in creating an accessible learning environment for deaf or hard-of-hearing students. Travel as needed within the school district to support multiple locations. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions. Qualifications: Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL). Prior experience as a sign language interpreter in educational settings preferred. Strong understanding of the educational environment and needs of deaf or hard-of-hearing students. Ability to travel as required to various school sites.
